Tenets of faith

We believe the Bible is truth, the inspired, infallible Word of God, the revealed will of God to man on all matters of conduct and doctrine.

II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Peter 1:19-21; Colossians 1:5-6

We believe the Trinity is comprised of Father, Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit; all are co-eternal and co-equal.

John 15:26; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Matthew 3:16-17; John 10:23-38; John 8:23-24; John 1:1;14;18; Colossians 2:9; John 14:16-17

We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ: God manifest in the flesh, the eternal Son of God, the second member of the Godhead (Trinity) who always existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:11; Romans 1:20; John 1:1-30; John 6:38-57; Hebrews 7:16; Philippians 2:5-11; Romans 9:5; Hebrews 1:3;8; Isaiah 7:14; John 16:30; John 14:6; John 15 9-10; Isaiah 9:6; John14:9; Mark 2:1-12

We believe in the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Virgin Birth) God taking on Himself human flesh.

Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:26-35; Colossians 2:9

We Believe in the Salvation of Man: Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. On the cross Jesus Christ was crucified and slain to bring salvation, healing, and hope to mankind by satisfying God's wrath against us because of sin. Salvation is obtained by repentance towards God (for sin) and faith in the sacrifice Christ made for us on the cross. Salvation is not by human works (deeds); our works are evidence of our faith in God, and determine our future reward.  Being justified by grace through faith we are cleansed of sin and become children (heirs) of God.

We Believe that the infilling/baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues is for all believers. This promise is from the Father, according to the command of Jesus and results in a manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service. This is an experience distinct from and subsequent to the New Birth.

Acts 1:4-8; Luke 24:29; Acts 2:38-39; I Corinthians 12:1-11; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 15:7-9; Acts 19:2-6; Acts 2:4

We Believe the Church is the Body of Christ. Every believer has an essential role in the local church.

Ephesians 1:22; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; I Corinthians 12:12-31; Colossians 1:18; 2:19; Ephesians 4:11-13;Hebrews 10:25

Baptism in water is a declaration to the world that a believer has died with Christ and that he/she has been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.

Matt 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Rom 6:4

We believe that Jesus, our Blessed Hope is coming again to gather all His saints to Heaven on the Day of the Lord.

I Corinthians 15:35-54; I Thessalonians 2:1, 4:16-17; II John 14:3; John 21:20-23; Matthew 24:32-51; Luke 19:11-27

We Believe in the Final Judgment. Individuals who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus and those who willfully disobey Him, will suffer eternal separation from God, but believers will enter into the Eternal Kingdom of our Lord.

Revelation 19:20, 20:10-15; Matthew 5:22, 25:31-45; Luke 23:43; Proverbs 15:24; Luke 16:23-28; Hebrews 9:27; II Thessalonians 1:7-10

As a matter of belief, doctrine and religious practice, Destiny Christian Centre reserves the term "marriage" for the covenant relationship between one man (husband) and one woman (wife) to the exclusion of all others. This covenant relationship represents the union between Christ and His Body (the church).

Genesis 2:18-24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:8; Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 3:18-19; 1 Peter 3:1-7; Hebrews 13:4
